College basketball coach Roy McCormick (Martin Lawrence) has a gifted understanding of the game, but neglects his players in an effort to maximize his own financial gain. To make matters worse, he has a fiery temper, which explodes one day, earning him a ban from collegiate basketball until he can learn to better manage his anger. Losing many of his endorsements, the coach is forced to seek employment wherever he can get it, and eventually winds up in the unlikely role of coach at Mount Vernon Junior High. Tasked with transforming a band of misfits into competent players, Coach Roy initially shows little interest, hoping only to demonstrate good intentions and thus rejoin college athletics. However, as time goes by, the coach slowly comes to accept his fate and begins to actually teach the students. As he does so, he becomes emotionally attached, and realizes that it may have been his love of the game which had been missing, rather than his lucrative contracts.

Reno 911! Chronicled the group of officers attending a police convention in Maimi, Fl. Upon reaching the convention center and attempting to gain entrance, their passes are denied, as the Reno sheriffs department is not on the guest list. While the team is waiting outside, a biological agent of unknown origin is released inside the convention center, causing all the police officers in Miami, and many from around the country, to be quarantined until the biological agent can be identified and an antidote can be found. Lieutenant Jim Dangle (Thomas Lennon) quickly takes charge of the situation and mans the massive police station. The team get into various hijinks across Miami, led by Dangle and the Mayor’s assistant Jeff Spoder (Patton Oswalt), who is trying vainly to keep the Reno team and the city under control. As the team runs afoul a major Miami drug lord with ties to the biological agent in the convention center, they begin to get an idea just how crazy people can get in Florida.

Rocky now lives alone, as his wife Adrian passed away several years ago. His son despises him, and he owns a restaurant, Adrian's, in Philadelphia. Rocky starts thinking about fighting locally, but after a computer simulation shows Rocky beating the current champ, Mason Dixon, Dixon's people challenge Rocky to a fight. After some soul-searching, Rocky agrees, and starts training, since his speed and quickness are gone, Rocky can only win by developing brute strength. He does that, and fights Dixon to the bitter end, with his son in his corner after the two reconcile.
